What is a Blog and Why is it important to our Faith Ministry going forward?
By the Internet Evangelist Rev. Kamau Austin
A Blog is a term used to combine the words Web and Log = Blog. Its true benefit is in the programs ability to create - publish and archive web site information, audio, and video very easily.
All a person has to do with a Blog is type in new information or upload audio and video files. The site does everything else automatically.
You don't have to be a website designer to update a Blog. All that is needed is an Internet connection on a computer with a browser like Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, or Mozilla FireFox. It short, if you know how to surf the web you can update a Blog.
A Blog is a website that can be updated from an Internet browser via a service by www.blogger.com.
Developing a blog will empower and enable Bishop Dr. Kerry Gulston to constantly keep in touch and minister faithfully to his growing international congregations throughout the world. It will also help him to share faithful teachings to others whenever God leads him to do so through the web and Internet media.
Blog technology in the future will enable our diverse ministries to keep in contact with other churches throughout the world. Can you imagine our mother church in Harlem being able to video record our services on Sunday and upload them to the Internet.
Once online some faith partners and members in areas like African, Asia, and England can see and experience God's moving in our services? Or can you envision if Bishop Gulston is in South Africa doing a revival the members in Harlem will be able to see God's miracles in South Africa?
The possibilities for Blog technology are boundless when merged with our ministry of faith! While daily audio and video is down the line for our Blog, you will now be able to visit Bishop Dr. Gulston's Blog Updates to get a Word of Faith on a regular basis.
Let' continue to pray and work together to use this Internet technology to advance God's Kingdom promises here on earth. Matthew 28:18 - 20 records "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
For the first time in the history of the world the ends of the earth can be reached 24/7 simultaneously and connected with Internet technology. Let's be good stewards of this technology to spread the Gospel.
